Argumentation & Advocacy in Debate Workshop

Project Dialogue’s 2019 Argumentation & Advocacy workshop combines the fundamentals of competitive debate with real-world applications of communication and advocacy skills to inspire students to speak out. Taught by Brian Zhou, a two-time national champion in LD Debate and two-year member of the official USA Debate Team, the workshop’s curriculum immerses students in the key skills of critical thinking, research, and communication that are necessary foundations for all levels of Public Forum, World Schools, Policy, and Lincoln-Douglas Debate formats. In addition to standard training adopted by the USA Debate Team in argument construction, dynamic rebuttal, and public speaking, the Argumentation & Advocacy workshop will empower students to navigate disagreements, understand the legacy of Asian-American advocacy, and use their voices for change.
