2020 Donations
We haven't processed and uploaded receipts for our 2020 donations following camp yet, but our first round of donations using our 2019 operational surplus was used to benefit the Black Lives Matter movement. Project Dialogue is committed to combatting inequality at all times, especially given the immediate need to support the cause of BLM. Coupled with matching from donors around the country, we donated over $1000 in the first half of 2020 to affirm our commitment to racial justice.
Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, NAACP's LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 75 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments. We designated our funds be specifically used for combatting police violence.
The Kentucky Legal Defense Fund directly supports the EWM Surgical Clinic, which is the only abortion clinic in Kentucky and one of six Black-owned abortion clinics in the country. EWM was badly damaged during the protest, so our money is being used for repairs, patient care, and operational costs, as well as ensuring women's reproductive rights are secure across Kentucky.
